On April 17th 2012, I had the privilege of speaking at the first Oregon State University TED-X program. Despite being nervous about being the last speaker of the day, the evening went really well.
In fact being the last speaker turned out to be great. Bill Gates proceeded me (through a pre-recorded video) and spoke about all the difficulties facing the world in stopping climate change. He didn’t leave the audience feeling very hopeful to say the least. Fortunately, Lake County’s story helped turn their mood around.
I explained how Lake County will use renewable energy to offset its carbon emissions and that every community can use renewable energy to at least reduce their carbon emissions. The audience liked what I had to say and I hope you will too. Please feel free to watch my talk here.
